Dr. Gloria Morrow
Professor and publisher owes her success to Mt. SAC
Dr. Gloria Morrow is a busy person these days. She is a professor at the University of La Verne, author, lecturer, consultant, co-publisher (with husband Tommy) of the Inland Valley News, and co-pastor (with Tommy) of the Victory Community Church in Pomona. But before this busy life, Dr. Morrow remembers where she got inspired to become a teacher.
"The experience at Mt. SAC helped me to crystallize my goals," said Morrow, "It was there at Mt. SAC that I knew that I wanted to teach."
At Mt. SAC, she found the encouragement to continue her educational pursuits from teachers, such as Speech Professor Colleen Tan and Psychology Professor Jack Brennecke (now both retired).
She finished her general education at Mt. SAC and transferred to the University of La Verne, where she earned her bachelor's degree in psychology. She continued her education, earning a master's in clinical psychology from the Fielding Institute, a master's in marriage and family counseling from Azusa Pacific University, and her doctorate in clinical psychology from the Fielding Institute. She began teaching on a part-time basis at the University of La Verne and in 1997 was promoted to a full-time professor. |
