PROFILES OF SUCCESS

Christopher McKay
Mt. SAC is even better the second time around!

Chris transferred from Mt. San Antonio College in 2002. But he had such a good experience the first time around that after graduating from UCLA, he returned to Mt. SAC. He says the teachers and the education he received are top notch.

At first, Chris couldn’t afford UCLA, so he came to Mt. SAC in 2001. The experience was a pleasant surprise. He got individual attention that he couldn’t get elsewhere, and the scholarships and grants he received with help from the College’s Financial Aid Office helped him achieve his educational goals.

Even after graduating summa cum laude at UCLA with degrees in sociology and international development studies, he remembered his experience at Mt. SAC.

Today, Chris continues to take foreign language classes at Mt. SAC, and participates on the Forensics Team.  Most recently he completed a year-long term as Student Trustee on the Mt. SAC Board of Trustees.  Chris plans to go on to graduate school to earn a doctorate, work for a relief organization in a Third World country, and eventually work for the United Nations.

“But I’ll always remember where I got my start,” he says. “I recommend that students come to Mt. SAC first.”
